Strawberry Nutella pastry

If your kid is like mine and loves the Pillsbury toaster strudel and you don’t want to keep buying the processed one, here is a simple and easy recipe to make your own. You can make this totally from scratch by making your own chocolate sauce as well, but I opted to use Nutella spread.

Here is what you need: one packet of thawed pepperidge farm pastry sheets (the long one), 2 tablespoons of nutella spread, 2 tablespoons of light cream, 6 ripe strawberries

Mix the light cream into the nutella spread and whisk it well until you get a fairly thick sauce. Slice the strawberries into quarter inch pieces.

Thaw the pastry according to directions. Unfold the pastry on a floured surface. Cut the pastry sheets into three strips lengthwise and then halve each strip. Add one tablespoon of sauce to the lower half of the pastry strip. Add a tablespoon of strawberry on top of the sauce. You should be able to fold the other half of the pastry strip over this one.

Fold and press sides until the pastry is closed. Bake on a slightly greased sheet in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Voila, delicious strawberry chocolate pastries for the darlings!

You can have some too. The pastry is light and flaky, and has this gooey strawberry chocolate thing inside. Have it with some cafe au lait!
