72 degrees and unfair

You know it is extremely warm and sunny here today, and if I am to take a break from the terminal grading, it would be to clean out my vegetable beds and work in the yard. But, in reality, I am chaperoning my daughter and her friend at the Fair. The fair is in town. I am standing in the middle of grease confectionery air and pollen –deadly combination for my allergy–watching Dayani and Aylin getting shaken and stirred inside a large, red, metallic funnel. Is this why I carried you in my stomach for nine months, Dayani? Amazing, really.

What this is really, except for my daughter and her friend who are with an old woman, and a few other kids, this is one giant mating experiment for middle school and high school boys and girls. Everybody is checking everybody out. It is quite amusing, really.
