IPTA Songs

Next week is finals week and then it is summer vacation! What a semester it has been too. I am sitting here grading the mountains of things that are coming in, but I wanted to post a link to an article about my friend Sumi who is involved in salvaging the old protest and resistance songs from the independence movement and since and from the popular and folk theatre tradition, the IPTA — Indian People’s Theatre Association. I am so proud of you, Sumi; wonderful work.

Might as well listen to good songs, while grading. I found all the songs from Meghe Dhaka Tara. These are for you, Appu. Happy early birthday, brother dear!
