Holding Hands

The republican national convention is on television and I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but I have to say that I cannot, repeat, cannot stand this drivel anymore.  Rick Santorum just spoke and apparently he has been holding hands all over Pennsylvania for the last so many years. So far, Rick Santorum has held the hands of miners, farmers, oil and gas workers, waiters, waitresses, farmers, field hands, taxi drivers, postal workers, hospital staff, fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandchildren, greatgrandkids, great god almighty granduncle, the new born, the unborn, soldiers, and finally the disabled. Apparently the only hands he has not held so far in Pennsylvania are the hands of teachers; hands that write on the chalk board, hands that write and post notes, hands that download one hundred thousand files each day to grade, hands that collect papers, hands that try to explain the difference between this and that, hands that draw circuits, hands that play instruments, hands that mix chemicals, hands that make and read maps, hands that write, hands that edit, hands that give an A, hands that wake up at 2 in the morning to grade the writings of the sons and daughters of the farmers miners fieldhands and cowboys, hands that solve problems. Santorum believes that education should be left in the hands of parents, families and community members, and not to that house of iniquity, the department of education.

Really, nation, even Pennsylvania did not want Santorum in office. He should be nowhere near a political office. How does an entire demographic of people become so ignorant? Why would they choose to become so uninformed, so, really, there is no other way to say it, so ignorant? If these people should win this election, I would like to move to the Yukon territories.
