Welcome back Bill! Are you all set for the new semester? Is your new baby here yet?

By all means see the movie for yourself. It is a bad movie. You know the great physicist Stephen J Hawking once said something like the beating of a butterfly’s wing on one side of the globe creates a tidal wave on the other side or something like that–I am mangling the great man’s words–but from there it is a stretch to say that the aboriginal way of life in Australia was exterminated by the Japanese–that is what the movie says. Ha!

Are you all set for English 280? I’ve posted the textbook information on CARS.

Amazing. I’ve spent 4 or 5 hours sitting on the plane myself waiting, wondering, worrying, as the temperature became almost unbeara ble (AC system was being repaired – hence the delay) Not fun, but then neither is sleeping on the floor with newspapers as your mattress at Washington Dulles at 4 a.m. This is after my 2 year old daughter (who was still on Thailand’s schedule) finally wound down. We walked and walked………rode the trams a few times….walked some more. I wish I could forget that!

Mahlon is a very kind individual. I’ve enjoyed conversations with him (usually at Wal-Mart).

Are you sure you don’t want to learn some guitar?

Oh my, what a good write up!! I’m still giggling.

Isn’t it amazing how many movie script writers only write within their self-conceptualized perceptions?

I had hopes for seeing this movie, but alas, I think I’ll take a pass.

And those damn Japanese………Although a young Chinese girl in a few of my classes last semester really didn’t like them very much.

Nanjing, other atrocities, I try to understand her dislike, but living with that mindset will never allow a refreshing change of attitudes that is so very necessary for all of us in this increasingly smaller sphere we call home.

That is indeed bad news. That is terrible. I am in India right now, but when I get back to Lock Haven, I will see what we can do. There is a small but strong community of people interested in the welfare of animals and wilderness in the town. Maybe all of us can get together and help Kristina. Meanwhile if you are in the area, you might want to see what can be done as well. It would be great to do a story in the newspaper, for instance. If I were there, for instance, that would be the first thing I would do. Good luck. And thanks for telling me this. We thought Kristina’s work was so important. Best GD.

I read your article about your rescued rabbit, my husband and i recently rescued a racoon and brought him up to Kristina. She had some very sad news, she quite possibly is going to lose her property if something isnt done and lose the rescue, if there is anything you could think of fund raising wise or anything else please pass it on to either my email or through phone to her…thank you

Oh I worry about everything happening to children in my family and elsewhere. I am infinitely anxious about human beings under the age of 18. I cannot think of a specific and practical reason right now. You know it could even be a dream about myself, as most of these things are. most of the time. Thanks for your comment. GD.

Unfortunately I have no information on Khadijeh Bayat beyond what is shown in the movie. Sorry! Perhaps one way to find out would be to get in touch with Bani-Etemad and go from there. Good luck. GD.
