Dayani and my niece Ketaki in the car on the way to the river singing their cover version of “I believe I can fly”:
I believe I can fly wooah wooah wooah
I got shot by the FBI wooah
Because they thought I was a UFO wooah wooah wooah
But I really was a cheerio wooah
I believe I can go wooah wooah wooah
Through the box of the cheerios wooah
I am looking for my honey nut wooah wooah wooah
Because I am a cheerio wooah
I am not a UFO wooah
I believe I can fly wooah wooah wooah
Please don’t shoot me FBI wooah wooah wooah wooah . . .
HOWL . . .

I will never be able to listen to this affirmative song with a straight face ever again! Its like When the Saints Go Marching In–I always laugh when I hear it because I am reminded of Steve Goodman’s There are men who love women who love men /There are women who love women every now and then /There are men who love men because they can’t pretend they are men who love women who love men!!!
Good to see your post referencing “Men Who Love Women Who Love Men” by Steve Goodman. He often doesn’t get his due. You might be interested in my 800-page biography, “Steve Goodman: Facing the Music.” The book delves deeply into the genesis of “Men Who Love Women Who Love Men” and his more than 100 other stellar songs.
You can find out more at my Internet site (below). Amazingly, the book’s first printing sold out in just eight months, all 5,000 copies, and a second printing of 5,000 is available now. The second printing includes hundreds of little updates and additions, including 30 more photos for a total of 575. It just won a 2008 IPPY (Independent Publishers Association) silver medal for biography: http://www.independentpublisher.com/article.php?page=1231. To order a second-printing copy, see the “online store” page of my site. Just trying to spread word about the book. Feel free to do the same!

Thanks for the information about your book. I will check it out. Steve Goodman is such a fine song-writer! I love the No Big Surprise album a lot.
Thanks again. And good luck with your book. GD
